Dabadoo and Spannabis 2015

image

On Wednesday the 18th March 2015 I rushed home from work grabbed a packed bag from by the door and left for the train station to start the journey to London ready for my flight. After a trek across London buzzing from what’s to come I meet my friend at a London station for a catch up over some shared herbs. I open a jar of Exodus Psychosis Cheese and he unwraps a wrap of mixed strain QWISO and we get down to chat and chill.

The next morning still beaming and the sun shining my friend drives me to Stansted airport where I grab a flight to Barcelona! 2 hours odd later… Touchdown Barcelona!! I hot foot it to the train to the hotel drop my stuff and briskly walk to the Dabadoo location passing many of Barcelona’s famous Gothic churches and buildings as I go.

The location reveals itself to me by a familiar smell and reminds me of nightclubs in Bristol, a side door opens and I wander inside and intro myself. I’m greeted by tables of enthusiasts and a welcoming host who takes my ticket and hands me a large bag of goodies from behind the desk.

To the left side of the room there is a bar with complimentary food and to the right a 710 crew stall and some other head stalls then a bar. I head over to the tables and spot some familiar faces from London Cannabis Club, Hertfordshire Cannabis Club and sit myself down. I set out unpacking the goody bag which contains a rig, a pencil case full of samples and stickers, a dab pen and a score sheet and pen.

Team10 Extracts introduces himself and hooks me up with a torch and I sample my first wrap, C on everyone’s recommendation including Team10 which thought that was their entry 😉 The flavour is crazy strong more like dry sift or fresh frozen IWE than BHO I’ve tasted before and the hit seems reasonably well balanced settling me nicely after the journey.

Some of the UK cannabis scene is passing by each table dropping hat pins to eager faces, I’m stoked to get a MediMonkey pin, a name to me which means compassion and stash the pins into my goody bag.

A fair few more samples down I head for a wander around the venue and grab a drink from the bar and check out the spread laid out on the other side of the room, I sample the lot and mentally compare the tastes and settle on a slab of cake which I drip in strawberry then apricot jam!

On return I happily find more of the Bristol Cannabis Club arrive to assist my judging as I have rather lamely decided to taste them all one by one when I should have selected those with the best look and smell for tasting which would probably have given me my top 3 in each class (solvent/ non solvent), they work through the entries with me, stopping me from scoring everything 10 in my blazed state.

Whilst my mates check out the selection I hop over to 710 crew who have a lovely line in wooden E-nail kits which make me drool, I grab a TI nail to assist with the non solvent and large globs and a silicon tub to save my goodies in.

The count is in and the speakers take to the mic, it’s nice to put some names to faces and hear the passion about the movement, as they call in the winners I take them to re sample them and share with those around who missed them. Skb Star Dog takes first place for non solvent and Oil Hunters Lemon Kush Wax takes first place for solvent.

2 = nr 5 = House of the great Gardener

3 = nr 10 = serious seeds & great gardener

We get back to chatting and dabbing the night away then head for Bristol Cannabis Club after party in my hotel room which is more like a suite than a room.

The next day it’s Spannabis and after some lengthy queuing I burst into the event to be greeted by some chilled reggae beats and many happy faces as I sit on the side and load my dab pen as those un familiar with dabs enquire what I’m playing with and I share out a few hits.

Loaded I head into the myriad of stalls. Every company in the scene seems to be there and dabs are flowing from many of the stands, I grab a few bits for club raffle as I mingle and chat with the vendors and UK clans. The biggest interest seems to be at the stalls offering roulette games with chance of wining many prizes for 0 – 5 Euros a spin, I sign up for one and win a grinder for the raffles! Result! I am even tempted to try a mojito I win on a scratch card(I don’t usually drink). Alcohol having loosened my wallet I head to the SmokingGear stall and pick up a new ceramic nail, carb cap and dabber set and a slick mat duo pack.

Worn out from a days walking and talking I reach out to the rest of Bristol Cannabis Club and head out to a restaurant to meet them for food before we head to the first association of the trip that we were referred to by a friend in the UK. The staff are very welcoming and explain the rules before showing us the choices. I take some Amnesia Haze Ultra indoor and some Jamaican Dream outdoor. The Amnesia was lovely and glinted in the lights and quite well grown. The outdoor was not quite as well grown but still a very pleasant high although it lacked a little in looks and taste. We also shared some Rock Star oil that was a nice strong high but darker and runnier than I’m used to dabbing more of a FECO or dark honey.

The next day we re -group and head to Spannabis together after some morning dabs of course! 😉

On arrival I get my shop on and pick up a new pipe from OG glass, I had planned to buy a rig too but worried about bringing it back safe so the wallet got off lightly hehe. Also grabbed some glass tips and beeline whilst I was there, two things I have wanted to try in ages! and now I can burn my non solvent in my pipe! 🙂

Lots more socialising followed with some nice folk from Glasgow Cannabis Club and Merseyside Cannabis Club over some food and we all headed to a larger association I had been referred to by a friend I met in Birmingham. The association was a lot busier than the last and reminded me more of a nightclub or as another Bristol Cannabis Club member said ‘it looks like the foyer of a sex club’ LOL!! We signed up in the reception area using the tablets provided after a little interrogation and headed through a door into the dark club. The queue for herbs was large! but oh was it worth it, the tastes on offer were all lovely looking although a few sold out just before I reached I managed to get myself 4 different flavours of very tasty looking and smelling buds, for sure they must have been good as the only names I remember was Somango which was very fruity smelling with a lovely taste and high, and Chocolope my all time fave strain for its unique chocolatey taste and very comforting high which just centres me nicely. We stayed and smoked and dabbed till late then grabbed the train back to the hotel again.

Next day was a very sunny one and I enjoyed the rest of my stash in the sun with friends before heading to catch my flight back to Blighty, Adiós Barcelona!! Hasta Luego!!
